Day 54: Two eggs

Two Eggs
By Batsheva 1/24/10

Two eggs in a nest
One brown
One white
Each one perfect
In the other one’s sight

When White said to Brown
“How ya doin’, Caramel?”
Brown said to White,
“Hey, Vanilla, just swell.”

Two better friends
There could never be
Than these two different-colored
Eggs, you see

Then early one morning
The farmer came along
Just whistling and humming
And singing her song
Deedle eedle eeee
Deedle eedle oooo
Gathering the eggs
Is what I do!

Well, White asked Brown
“Are we gonna be fried?”
Brown answered back,
“They get to decide.”

That’s just what they did
The farmer’s family
Made some breakfast
And what did they see?
Two different eggs
One brown, one white
Each one perfect
In the other one’s sight
Cracked them open
And the farmer spied
They were both exactly
The same
Inside.
