Do you really want
To fail this class?
Wouldn't you really
Rather pass?
You could do well
If you'd just try,
And I'm sure
You know that's why
I'm always getting on your case.
To try
Then fail
Is no disgrace,
But if all you ever do
Is slack off,
I promise you
I will not back off
Until you're doing
What you should
Because I am so sure
You could
If you would only
Do your work;
Your obligations,
Cease to shirk.

And if you wonder
Why I bother--
I'm not your mother
Or your father--
The explanation I will share
Quite gladly:
It's because
I care.
