You try and try
And wonder
Will they ever see the light?
And then you see it
In their eyes
And know you did it right
The boy who couldn't get it
No matter how you tried
That moment when it somehow clicked
You very nearly cried
The girl who always seemed so lost
You worked so hard to reach her
And on the day you did
You knew
Why you became a teacher
