Well, this poem is for the mother of a friend, who turned 87 today (the mother, not the friend). She's just an amazing woman with purple hair and clothes to match.
Purple Rose
By Batsheva 6/3/10
There's a purple Rose in Canada
A unique and vibrant flower
That isn't growing older
Only better by the hour
Four score and seven years
This Rose has grown here on this earth
And her color hasn't faded
Since it blossomed at her birth
So today's a day to celebrate
Let's drink a toast and smile
For that lovely purple rose
That grows
In Canada
With style
