Summertime means I'm free
My summertime is just for me
I'll delight to spend each day
Just to sleep and eat and play
Like a happy butterfly
Or an eagle soaring high
I do exactly what I wish
Even swim just like a fish
Yes, the greatest way to be
Is summer free
Don't get me wrong
I do like school
I'm no anti-learning fool
But if you want the truth
I cannot lie:
