Punctuation Celebration
By Batsheva 8/31/10
Periods and commas
You can use in your pajamas
They're common and they're easy
And without them
Folks get queasy
'Cause that makes it hard to know
When to stop and take a breath
And skimping on your breathing
Can simply lead to death
So believe me when I say
It's very serious
If you're forgetting all your commas
And your periods
Now you must know an exclamation point
Will really liven up the joint
When the thing you have to say
Is quite exciting in some way
And when you have a question
Always use a question mark
For if you don't
I'm sure you will be eaten by a shark
Or maybe not
But they'll take you to task
If folks think you're stating something
You should ask
Yes, punctuation is delightful
And without it
Life gets frightful
When writing the shortest note
Or the longest tome
The only place you can escape it
Is a poem

That's funny, because the whole time I was reading the poem I was very aware that it was devoid of punctuation.
