A Pencil

A pencil's just a piece of wood
With graphite in its middle
But if you think it doesn't matter
Then I think you know quite little
For a pencil is as mighty as a pen
But even more
It can do most of the same things
And it's much less of a chore
Yes, a pencil makes things easy
When you find you must erase
Which can save you from embarrassment
Frustration and disgrace
If your writing must be permanent
Then a pencil's not your choice
But otherwise, a pencil is
A reason to rejoice
